The bid opening ceremony for the 67.31 km rural road was held on February 27, 2024, at the State Project Implementation Unit. This marks the commencement of the contractor selection process for the construction of the 51.15 km Gulu-Evuti Lambata Road and the 16.16 km Maikunkele Jangaru-Gidan Managoro Road.

In his remarks, the Director-General of RAAMP, Amb. Nma A. Ahmed, appreciated all attendees and highlighted the project’s significance in improving infrastructure and connectivity within the state. He emphasized that the project would connect different areas, open up opportunities for growth in trade and agriculture, and enhance the quality of life. Ahmed assured bidders that their submissions would be carefully evaluated with utmost transparency and fairness, urging everyone to work together with a shared vision aligned with the vision of H.E. Farmer Governor Umar Mohammed Bago. He wished all bidders the best of luck in the process.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Rural and Community Development, Mallam Umar A. Zukogi, stated that the bidding exercise aimed to ensure transparency and openness in the contractor selection process.

Other dignitaries in attendance included the State Project Coordinator of RAAMP, Ibrahim Dada, the Director of Procurement, the Office of the Head of Service, the Head of the Project Fund Management Unit, a procurement consultant from FPMU, members of civil society organizations, members of the State Project Implementation Unit, and prospective bidders.
